About Nehru Science Centre
Nehru Science Centre in Worli is India's largest interactive science centre, part of the National Council of Science Museums. It began with the 'Light and Sight' exhibition in 1977, added a science park in 1979 and was opened as a full science centre on 11 November 1985 by the then prime minister, Rajiv Gandhi. The eight-acre science park and the main building hold more than 500 hands-on exhibits on energy, sound, mechanics, transport and other themes, along with historical artefacts of science and technology and a 3D science show. The centre runs science demonstrations, competitions, sky-observation programmes and holiday workshops, and it is one of the city's most dependable outings for school-age children.
