About Vishnudas Bhave Natyagruha
The Vishnudas Bhave Natyagruha in Sector 16A, Vashi, is Navi Mumbai's main municipal auditorium, run by the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation. It is named after Vishnudas Bhave, the nineteenth-century dramatist regarded as the founder of Marathi theatre, whose Sita Swayamvar was staged in 1843. The hall is the regular Navi Mumbai stop for touring Marathi plays and also takes Hindi and Gujarati productions, stand-up comedy tours, film-music and classical concerts, dance recitals and the annual shows of local schools and academies. For audiences in Vashi, Koparkhairane, Sanpada and Nerul it saves a trip across the creek to Dadar or Prabhadevi.
