About Y. B. Chavan Centre
The Y. B. Chavan Centre, formally the Yashwantrao Chavan Centre, stands on General Jagannath Bhosale Marg in Nariman Point, close to Mantralaya. It is run by the Yashwantrao Chavan Pratishthan, the trust named after Maharashtra's first chief minister, and is a conference and cultural complex with a main auditorium, smaller halls and exhibition space. It is one of South Mumbai's regular addresses for Marathi and Hindi plays, music programmes, literary events, lectures, film screenings and public meetings, and it appeared among the venues for the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival in 2026. Because it sits in the government quarter, evenings are quiet, and a show here combines easily with dinner at Nariman Point or a walk on Marine Drive.
