Mumbai LitFest 2026: 23–25 October at the NCPA
3 events matching right now across Mumbai — mostly literature (3). 1 is free.
The Mumbai LitFest returns to the National Centre for the Performing Arts at Nariman Point from Friday 23 to Sunday 25 October 2026. It is the seventeenth edition of Literature Live!, the city's oldest literary festival, and the first under a new title partner: it is now called Godrej Literature Live! The Mumbai LitFest, after earlier editions carried the Tata name. The programme spans fiction, poetry, cinema, journalism, history, economics, science and sport, with sessions spread across the NCPA's theatres and open spaces through the day and performances in the evening. Speakers announced for 2026 include Gulzar, Javed Akhtar, Shashi Tharoor and the Hindi poet Gagan Gill, and this year's edition gives special attention to Marjane Satrapi's graphic memoir Persepolis. In past years most sessions have been free with registration, with seats filled on a first-come basis and a few ticketed evening performances. Check the festival's website for the 2026 arrangement and the full schedule. This page tracks LitFest sessions and other book launches, readings and literary events in the city.

- Register on the festival's website before you go, and reach each session 20–30 minutes early; popular talks fill up.
- Sessions run in parallel across several NCPA theatres, so mark your picks on the schedule and allow time to walk between halls.
- The Aqua Line's Vidhan Bhavan station is the closest stop to the NCPA; from Churchgate take a taxi or bus down Marine Drive.
- Carry a tote bag: the festival bookshop stocks the speakers' titles, and signings usually follow the sessions.
