About DY Patil Stadium
DY Patil Stadium in Nerul is Navi Mumbai's main stadium, a 45,300-seat cricket ground designed by Hafeez Contractor with cantilevered roofs that leave every stand free of columns. It was inaugurated on 4 March 2008 and hosted the IPL finals of 2008 and 2010; it now stages Women's Premier League matches and was the venue of the 2025 Women's Cricket World Cup final, in which India beat South Africa on 2 November. Football has been played here too, including matches at the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup. It is also the region's biggest concert venue: Justin Bieber (2017), U2 (2019), Coldplay (three nights in January 2025) and A. R. Rahman (May 2025) have all played here.
