About Mahalaxmi Racecourse
Mahalaxmi Racecourse is an oval horse-racing track on about 225 acres of open land in the middle of Mumbai, built in 1883 and run by the Royal Western India Turf Club; its grandstand is a designated heritage structure. The racing season runs from mid-November to the last week of April, with the Indian Derby on the first Sunday of February. Outside race days the grounds are the city's largest outdoor event space. Lollapalooza India has been held here since its 2023 debut and returns on 23–24 January 2027, and the Art Mumbai fair runs here on 12–15 November 2026. Ticketing sites also list Anyma (21 November 2026), Sunburn Festival (18–19 December 2026) and Foo Fighters (31 January 2027) at the racecourse.
