Things to do in Mulund & Bhandup

Mulund, Mumbai's north-eastern edge before Thane, is a planned suburb with a loyal local audience for Marathi and Gujarati theatre. The municipal Mahakavi Kalidas Natyamandir in Mulund West stages plays, musical evenings and school and community shows, and the suburb's malls and gymkhanas host festive melas and food pop-ups. Mulund backs onto the hills of Sanjay Gandhi National Park, so morning walks, cycling groups and running clubs are part of the weekend routine. Mulund, Nahur and Bhandup are on the Central Line, and Thane's larger malls and auditoriums are a few kilometres further along LBS Marg and the Eastern Express Highway.
